I love watching imagination in action. This fellow has completely blossomed in imaginary play, and seeing him do so completely stills time for me. Plus, he sings and marches.
If you live in a house of testosterone, have yourself some fun and hang some mistletoe. The biggest fellow will think you awesome; the younger fellows will act like you have exacted some form of punishment (yet you will continue to find them with a twinkle in their eye under that door-frame more than ever before, daring you to kiss them).
Uncles are awesome. And yes, every family gathering tends to have pictures of uncles being used as vehicles or carnival rides, because that's what we do.
Thanksgiving + wonderful weather + extended family = FOOTBALL. Kids vs. Adults, of course. There will be laughter, goofing around, and children who take it as seriously as the Super Bowl. Days later, it will still be a common thread of conversation, a highlight of the time away.
