the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living

Three matches, three pins! Ish was undefeated in his very first wrestling tournament today!

After his first win, a woman said, "Did you say his name was Ish?"  She turned out to be a familiar face from our days at physical therapy.  Soon, everything came around in our memories - of the boy who was not supposed to walk on his own, now wrestling on his own two feet.

When we were in the midst of pain-filled nights and hard medical days, my sister-in-law gave us the verse Psalm 27:13: "I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living." To be honest, during those days, it was hard to be confident like that. Some days just last month - even last night - felt hard to be confident like that. But today is a reminder that even when it might not feel like it, the goodness of the Lord is at work.
