Recipe for a Perfect Weekend: Family Style

A half-day of school on Friday + a meeting in Pittsburgh on Saturday morning =
a fantastic excuse for a ROAD TRIP!!!

Oldest cousin Eli, comfortably enjoying his role with youngest cousin, Gracie.

One super-proud cousin, one not-so-sure-about-this-cousin-thing cousin.

One Toby, thrilled to be both sitting by Uncle Tim AND holding Gracie.

Aunt Steph could do this all day.  And the next day.  And then again on the next.

Uncle Mark has been heard to say numerous times: "Pictures just can't capture how cute she is!"  He's smitten like the rest of us.

Toby and Aunt Sarah share the same birthday, which means they share the same HALF birthday - so we traveled with cake.

I am sorry, Sarah, that the photographer did not capture your full face.  He did, however, capture how much Toby loves sharing a birthday with you.

Then, we were off for dinner with the GREATS - full of laughter and classic conversations.

The next morning, we attended our meeting and visited with a dear friend, her mom, and her six kids.  Consequently, we were too busy to pull out cameras - they, caring for six kids, and us, marveling over the magic of it all.  So thankful for friendships and common bonds!  (Heather - should we ever need to buy a van like Big Blue, you can give me the driving lessons.  Holy moly.)

It should not come as a surprise that when we started dreaming up this perfect weekend, we checked the Pirates schedule and happily discovered that there was indeed an afternoon home game.

It was a perfect weekend - well, it would have been great if the Pirates had won, but life is more than baseball...
