- Eli is now officially our fruit-chooser. Watermelon, cantaloupe, pineapple - if it is a difficult fruit to determine if it is indeed worth the purchase, Eli will come through. Amazing cantaloupe tonight, my man.
- Speaking of food, it is a main love language in this household. I let the boys pick out some sausage links today at the grocery store, and I should have just stopped in front of the deli to give my Mother-of-the-Year Award acceptance speech. Then, in the van when I said that we could change our dinner plans to breakfast-for-dinner and actually EAT THE SAUSAGE, the cheer that went up could easily have surpassed that heard at a Pirates game. (Be kind in your comments on that one, people.)
- These three boys who seem to eat all the time will someday grow up to be teenagers.
- Ish continues to try to sort out this whole pet-dying thing. He walks past the fish tank and says, "Bubba ... died? Died? Bubba?"
- We have a new fish, Fred Junior. (Or as Toby pronounces it, "Fwed June-ee-er.") A very little fish who, like 4 out of the 5 humans that live in this home, is male and obsessed with eating.
- Though Ish would qualify as the one most obsessed with eating, he is the one whose physique gives the least hint of such an obsession. Last week, he had his 18 month checkup and finally hit the 20 pound mark with literally not an ounce to spare. Which meant that he was able to, as a one-and-a-half-year-old, say farewell to the infant carseat that he has been riding in for all his life. (For the sake of perspective, Eli and Toby were 20+ pounds and out of the infant carseat significantly before their first birthdays. However, they were not burning off calories at rapid speed like the Rocket Man.)
- The parents of the house are still riding in their big-people car seats and are trying to eat a little less to accommodate for the three who are eating quite a bit more.
