Mommy: "Do you boys want to go to the county fair sometime this week?"
Toby: "Yay! With Aunt Ali and Uncle Nick, too?"
Toby: "Yay! With Aunt Ali and Uncle Nick, too?"
One of the highlights of our summer was a quick trip to Papa and Mimi's house... Mark's sister Ali and her husband Nick were in from Taiwan and had planned some good times for all of us, including the county fair. We rode some rides, ate elephant ears, and talked to many, many farm animals. All very fun - but those activities aren't what Toby instantly associates with the word fair.
The fair means Aunt Ali and Uncle Nick, and the above picture shows why. Eli constantly wanted to be near Uncle Nick to chat about basketball; though he and Uncle Nick have only been together three times, E's bond with him is undeniable. Toby wanted Aunt Ali to hold his hand, to wash him up, to carry him; if she wasn't in sight, he quickly inquired about her. Ish found Aunt Ali and Uncle Nick to be excellent protectors-from-the-goats.
We love and miss you, Uncle Nick and Aunt Ali! You are more than welcome to join us for county fair, part two. (Though you already missed the great tractor parade...)
