Look who is growing up! Ish is weighing in at 12 pounds, 14 ounces. His pediatrician declared that there were no delays or concerns regarding his development and gave us great news regarding the results of his renal scan - normal kidneys!
Doesn't he look like he's going to take off any day now? He rolls over easily from back to tummy and tummy to back, he loves to play peek-a-boo, and he is exceptionally ticklish. He also has slept through the night twice this month, his naps are stretching out, and unless he's hungry, he wakes up smiling! Good-bye eat-sleep-eat-sleep infant stage; hello eat, play, laugh, explore, sleep baby stage! Even more fun!
We continue to appreciate your kind words and many prayers as we wait on the Lord regarding Ish's future. Our pediatrician spoke to our first pediatric orthopedist, and he is recommending that we see a hand specialist regarding Ish's curving forearms. He also mentioned that while he continues to believe that amputating Ish's feet would be the better course of action, he too thinks that we should see a limb-lengthening doctor for a consult prior to making final decisions. Knowing that he has been continuing to consider Ish's case and is willing to think outside the amputation box has helped us feel more confident with our decision to stay with this doctor for Ish's orthopedic needs, whatever that means.
"We wait in hope for the Lord; He is our help and our shield.
In Him our hearts rejoice, for we
trust in His holy name.
trust in His holy name.
May Your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord,
even as we put our hope in You." Psalm 33:20-22
