Well, there has been a turn of events. After thinking that it was most likely going to be by today that we would be allowed to take Ishmael out of state, we learned today that some paperwork sent from NC never made it to our home state, so we will HOPEFULLY be able to leave by this weekend. This is much more time than Mark had available to be able to stay with us, so he flies out EARLY tomorrow morning. We are thankful for family working things out for us - Grandma offering to leave at 5:30am to take him to the airport, Mark's parents for arranging his ride home from the airport, Steph's parents for being available to help Steph with the drive home with the boys whenever that will be.
Tonight, Eli read about the man who built his house on the rock and the man who built his house on the sand - it was a good reminder to us that if we are on the solid foundation of Jesus, unexpected storms that come up will be weathered!
Ishmael update: Ishmael is holding his head up for long periods of time, and during a walk this evening, he smiled for a while at his surroundings. He is a real joy-bringer. Mommy is enjoying doing his curly hair, and Eli loves being the assistant. Toby, as Grandma wisely observed, thinks this is a completely wonderful vacation and is happily be-bopping around the house.

Pirates had a day off, but the last game came down to the 10th inning, Red Sox winning 15-14 yesterday. Pirates at least are having some good offense these days! Their record for Spring Training is 8-4.
ReplyDeleteOn a really positive note (but not as meaningful to you all), Penguins won their 7th in a row, coming from behind to beat the Panthers 4-3 in OT! Oh yeah! (My man Jordan Staal scored one of the goals)
